The H-60 / S-70 Blade Burn Pod Set, used with the UxValidator™ Series II, presents the condition of the blade de-ice heater mats so maintainers can troubleshoot at the rotor rather than removing and replacing components on suspicion.
This configuration operates in conjunction with the UxValidator Series II platform and is not a standalone solution.
Heater mat testing applies a precisely controlled 1-amp current stimulus and continuously measures the resulting voltage. The heater mat elements are tested in rapid succession, with all results logged automatically into memory. Test time for the 4 main rotor blades drops from 4 hours to under 30 minutes.
